Music Licensing Coordinator 20 October 2017

Marmoset is seeking a Music Licensing Coordinator

Marmoset is seeking a Music Licensing Coordinator to specifically focus on license renewals, working with our Business Affairs team. We’re seeking someone with proven administrative experience, laser-like attention to details and process, and killer communication skills. Primary duties include regular outreach to our filmmaker and creative community, delivering invoices, explaining contract terms, providing quotes, collecting payment, and admin support for the team, as needed. The ideal candidate is someone who is process and numbers-minded, flexible and who’s not only good with people, but sincerely enjoys being in a helper role, providing administrative support, and working on a team. Note: this is an administrative and support-focused role.

You –

Basics: You’re detail-oriented to a superhuman level and you have a drive for organization that keeps you learning and developing new systems and processes. You enjoy connecting with new people and maintaining relationships.

Personality: A self-starter with a contagious “can-do” attitude. You’re driven by an inherent desire to help others, solve problems and maintain harmony. You welcome criticism and often seek critical feedback. Unflappable — able to stay calm, low stress, and succeed in a fast paced, often distracting environment. Managing microscopic details sounds like fun.

Abilities: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, fast learner, excellent communicator. You are able to take a stacked to-do list and quickly and efficiently whittle it down. You excel at working through things swiftly and diligently. You’re a master of spreadsheets and numbers. You hold efficiency in high esteem and can develop and execute better processes when needed.

Experience: At least 1-2 years of Business Affairs or Accounts Receivable experience and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working through a high volume administrative duties, data entry, hundreds of emails and client support tasks. You’ve worked on a team where your strong attention to detail and highly organized attributes made an impact.

Passion + Purpose: You thrive in community and collaboration. You aspire to make a positive impact in the world. You love the arts and music.

Because we are a small company, this opportunity has the potential (and likelihood) to evolve in a variety of ways as we continue to grow, and will at times require a high degree of flexibility, patience, adaptation and juggling, depending on what needs to be done.

Worth knowing: At Marmoset, being aligned on virtues and values is more important than credentials, accolades or experience. Along those lines, here’s the top, most important virtues of a successful Marmoset employee:

Commitment (to all of the unique, quirky ways, norms, systems, culture, and rituals at Marmoset).
Fire in the Belly.
A sincere desire to listen, learn and grow.
Talent and Experience (important, but intentionally listed last)

If these virtues resonate with you and sound like how someone might describe you, then we’re on the right track.

Most importantly, you should know we care about people more than awards, achievement, and financial success attained in the bottom line. People, quality of life and relationships matter most. Period. We’re a close-knit group of people and we work hard to maintain a positive, healthy, rewarding and even fun culture. Here’s Marmoset’s purpose and core values, as defined by our staff:

Do the right thing.

We work to keep these core values and purpose ever-present in all that we do and we let them be a filter we use to make decisions and help us do better work.
