Design Researcher 11 October 2018

Design Researchers at Amplified are curious about the world they inhabit. They ask a lot of questions and are always trying to get to the bottom of why things are the way they are. They are empathizers – always prepared to unpack reasons driving people’s behaviors, their wants and needs. They have the uncanny ability to find meaning in the data whether it is qualitative or quantitative. At the same time, they are design thinkers who understand and appreciate the creative process. Whenever necessary, they are able to pull themselves outside the research to make human-centered interpretations that influence design in the most meaningful ways.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work with the experience design team to lead the design and planning and execution of creative research
  • Rally the team and all the stakeholders to facilitate a shared understanding on the importance of the
research and its impact on the design
  • Lead the conversation on when research is most useful and recommend approach/ methodology based
on the goals of the project
  • Lead stakeholder groups into design thinking sessions to drive a human-centered approach to problem
    solving
  • Synthesize and communicate research insights to the team, partners and other stakeholders through
creative writing, infographics, sketches and videos
  • Collaborate with the designers and strategists to interpret research findings, i.e., turning insight into an
    actionable vision for the product

You are:

  • At least 5 years of experience planning and executing both qualitative and quantitative user research
including contextual inquiries, observations, diary studies, surveys, statistical modeling usability testing,
    etc.
  • Able to understand what it takes to facilitate successful design thinking ideation and brainstorms and do it
  • Able to articulate findings with your excellent written communication and presentation skills
