CommunicArte, the design work of Mariel Alvarado, works with established organizations in global health to significantly increase lifetime supporters through digital and print marketing. Building upon a total of 12 years of graphic design and global health service provision in the Peace Corps, New York City, and Portland, I offer graphic design services to domestic and international non-profits that specialize in global health, sexual health and rights, youth promotion, and female economic empowerment. Publication design (case studies, brochures, one-pagers) is my strong suit.
I design to facilitate access to health information and therefore, to diminish social inequities.
I am Venezuelan-American, fluent in Spanish, and connected to the Latin American community in Portland. I am available for full-time, part-time, contract or consultation.
The name, CommunicArte, is essentially the words in English community or communication, united with the word in Spanish “arte.” In Spanish to “communicate yourself” is to “comunicarte.”
COMMUNITY HEALTH + GRAPHIC DESIGN + SOCIAL ADVOCACY is CommunicArte.
